Hes a center leaning liberal that used to get points from leftists because he has pro Marijuana views that he sometimes espouses in between the random crying about woke trans people.

After having posted in a lot of these topics theres really very little point in answering questions from people who are clearly wasting your time. When they arent just flinging casual abuse, rude comments and casual levels of ignorance of the subject of the conversation.

Old school liberal is a liberal but old school.

If you need that explained to you, then you should keep your opinions to yourself.

But if, more likely, youre just harassing people with inane questions and asshole responses to any answer, then you should keep your opinions to yourself.

Not really.

This is a message board on a dying board at that. No one is owed an explanation or elaboration just because you demand one. Same to any questions you propose to the person who shared their opinion(s). Those who seem to think you are owed one "or Im righr" give off a "debate me" vibe. Put frankly, no one is owed a debate, a discussion, or whatever it is you think is owed if an opinion on a message board is shared. Nor does that person not willing to engage mean they were wrong.

Not saying it's wrong to ask a question, but there seems to be a great misconception one is owed an answer or else their opinion is incorrect.

I honestly don't care about the specifics of what you and the other dude was discussing. If he was a jackass, then he was a jackass. That's an entirely different matter to what I'm addressing on thinking one must addressing your questions if they post anything.

More specifically I was replying to Gwyns post that one shouldn't post in a topic if they don't want to debate or discuss their post.

Posting an opinion, and you posting a disagreement followed with a question, does not mean the person you asked that question is supposed to engage with you just because you want them to. Nor does it mean their unwillingness to engage, means you are right or they are wrong.

This is literally a discussion on a dying board. Participation can literally mean posting ones opinion and that's that. You aren't owed a deeper discussion or answers to your questions just because someone participated by posting their opinion on a subject.

I'm staying far away from the specifics to what you guys were arguing about in terms of were they an asshole about it. If he was an asshole about not answering your questions, thats a different matter. Im addressing strictly this angle that one shouldn't post in a topic unless they want to engage with follow up questions/discussion. Or else, that means "they are wrong."

That's a fallacy at best.

For example, if I visit a community that thinks the earth is flat, and I tell them it's not, I don't owe an elaboration to these morons just because they ask. And their respect for me that I won't engage or "debate them" is about as useful as a pile of shit.
