We lead the medal count but trail by 3 gold medals to China.

33 gold,41 silver and 39 bronze.

Olympics are kinda unfair towards the bigger countries now that I think about it. Maybe it isn't so crazy that the EU wanted to be counted together afterall.

We have at least 3 guaranteed in Basketball & women's 100m hurdlers, and we should win women's soccer and volleyball barring any massive chokeage. We're going to need some help on the wrestling mat and on the climbing wall to win the overall gold count.

We would've been fine if our beach volleyball and water polo teams didn't gag so hard.

So it's going to come down to the wire. The current count is USA 37 to China's 38. You have to give the USA a +2 as there's no doubt we will win both basketball medals. It may come down to 3 events tomorrow: Women's weightlifting where there are China vs USA competitors, women's wrestling with Kennedy Blades, & women's volleyball, who are the defending gold medalists, but not the favorites against Italy.

There are not very many events left for China to gold tomorrow unless they got really good at cycling.

Remember when everyone was freaking out because the US barely had any medals on the second day of the games? Not bad for a country of supposed fat and lazy people.

Also China would be up even more in the gold medal count if they didn't still stubbornly pretend that Hong Kong was a separate country lol.

China's weightlifter isn't gonna lose, she's probably more favored to win her event than the US is in either basketball.

Weightlifting shouldn't be an Olympic "sport" anyways so just ignore those.

They did until China sent in the riot police to arrest everyone who openly wanted independence. Now they're just another PRC province.

Well, it's most likely a tie now. Both nations should get 40 golds each, barring some doping scandals.

Absolutely flowers given to Jennifer Valente for putting the USA on her back and winning a clutch gold in one of the final competitive events in Paris this morning, giving us the opportunity to tie golds with USA women's basketball. Unfortunately, our wrestler going for gold lost her aggression and wrestled passively in the end, costing her, and we got absolutely waxed in volleyball, almost as if the USA team knew they had no chance and were happy with silver.
