That said, they're taking a big angle of attack - Biden's age and continued mental capacity - off the table, and could very easily flip that on the Republicans now that they have a candidate in her 50s going up against someone who would be in his 80s before his term ends (and the contrast of a young woman of colour against yet another crusty old white guy is the exact contrast the Dems need). Yes, Republicans are visibly mad that Biden dropped out and have been talking about how it's "illegal" for him to do so. They need Biden to stay in because their funding and ads have been built around shitting on Biden. Obama actually didn't have the highest percent of the 3 but did have the best raw numbers turnout. I know shes capable enough and I think shes no worse or awkward than Biden was.
