I moved from smoking normal cigarettes to vaping a few years back. because I enjoy it more and its less harsh on my throat / lungs and doesnt smell as much.

I know current research suggests its less bad than traditional smoking but dont think well find out in 30 / 40 years that there are some major issues with it and a lot of people are gonna have unexpected health problems??

Probably. After all, it's metal. IN YOUR LUNGS!

To make an intuitive, not-evidence based argument, I can't imagine any activity that involves inhaling hot vapor solvent is going to be good for your long term health risk outcomes.

If I thought it, it wouldn't be unexpected by definition. So no.

Absolutely. I'm fully expecting vaping will eventually be revealed to be almost as bad, just as bad, or possibly even worse for you than smoking.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Almost certainly better than cigs, because basically everything is. But very likely to be pretty bad.

It doesn't kill you as fast as cigarettes. But it'll still kill you.

I mean, if it cuts out even 5% of the risk cigs have, that's still an improvement. Especially when it also, very provably, cuts out like 70% of the cost.

The ED that nic vapes was causing me was a great motivating factor in switching to zero-nic vapes. I noticed far less coughing and lung irritation on the zero-nic, but still figured it was better to just quit altogether.

I still get a passing craving here and there, but have been able to mostly stay the course and just drop it altogether, likely thanks to being off nicotine for many months now.

idk, I started vaping to quit cigs and I do feel a lot healthier overall. they do give me stomach aches, which is supposedly from too much nicotine at once but I use a 0.9% nicotine salt juice (it's a 1.8% mixed with a 0% of the same flavor).. most of the posts online talking about stomach aches are with 5% vapes, which are supposedly twice the nicotine per hit compared to a cigarette (online estimates say cigarettes give you as much nicotine per hit as a 2-3% vape)

but, I will say that any of the vapes with fruity flavors or "ice" (menthol) will make my throat feel funky and the fruity flavors make my teeth feel weird. so, tbh I feel better after having a cigarette compared to vaping one of those flavors.

other than that, I still like cigarettes more but try to avoid those if possible. if I'm drinking, then 100% I will have a ciggie with my second or third beer.

Also, I think that vaping is ONLY good for people who are trying to quit cigarettes and are very, very mindful of their vaping habits. tbh, everyone I know who started with vaping is using a 5% disposable like Breeze and will go through those very, very quickly.
like, a Breeze is 6ml of juice for $15-20 of 5% nicotine... it's kind of a waste of money, but I know ppl who go thru one every other day...which is nasty imo. like, just buy a refillable smh... it's $15 for 30ml and you can control the nicotine content, air flow, etc. but yeah, I think the people who start w/ vaping get addicted to it waaay more easily than they would have w/ cigs cus it's more socially acceptable and you can vape pretty much anywhere.

if anyone is looking to quit cigs, I suggest starting with Juul. it's pretty expensive compared to other vapes, but it is the closest "hit" to a cigarette. then when you start to associate the vaping with your nicotine craving, move to a refillable pod system (i use vaporesso xros mini, which is a similar but lighter "hit" compared to the juul) and incrementally lower the nicotine content of the nicotine juice you're using.
the tobacco flavors are all nasty af, you won't find any that tastes like smoking a cigarette. they all taste like fresh tobacco which is a very overwhelming and nasty flavor.
the coffee flavors are the best imo (i use vanilla mocha), since they aren't sugary and never have menthol.
