skyward sword its my fave zelda game even

Yakuza: Dead Souls... personally I liked it, but it does have some major performance issues ("power" of the PS3 lol)... also fine-aiming with the left stick was an odd choice.

chrono cross is still my fav rpg from the PS1 era
suikoden 4 is one i liked as well tho it's still the weakest of the series i still had fun with the sailing parts
breath of fire 5 is also one i think got too much hate for it's battle system tho i do got annoyed with the limited save part i still hold it dear to me for being a fun challenging rpg game

It isnt. They thought the real SMB2 was too hard for Americans, so they reskinned a game called Doki Doki Panic.

Resident Evil 0

It has some deep flaws but I loved the art style/direction of RE remake enough that I'm willing to give a pass on the game that followed it.

Both games still look amazing 20 years later.

I, too, love FF8.

I actually enjoyed dragon age 2, my only issue was the last third of the gane felt rushed.

It's my favorite one solely because I just like Zelda type games more than rail shooters.

Twin Snakes is better than the OG MGS in every conceivable way and people have over-exaggerated hate on it for trivial reasons.

The complaints about the over-the-top cutscenes are stupid when you take into account that this is the same series where in one game, a character does acrobat-fighting with a motorcycle and in another game, a Cyborg-Ninja with daggers on his feet dances on a Vampire Man's chest.

Definitely SMB2. The original SMB and 2 (along with Duck Hunt) were the first games I ever played as a kid; I found 2 to be the better / more enjoyable experience by a considerable margin, and it was the first video game I ever loved. So it always gets under my skin when people dunk on it or claim it's not a 'real' Mario game.

FF Mystic Quest, even though it was my first one.

I think it's increased in appreciation in more recent years. It used to get heavily dunked on for being RPGs for Dummies, and the criticisms were valid, but it did some cool stuff and I've increasingly seen positive posts/comments about Mystic Quest.

VIII is my favorite Final Fantasy, i love Tales of Zestiria, and X/Y are my favorite Pokemon games.

Another example would be Fable 3. It wasn't a bad game just very much a disappointment compared to the previous installments.

It's funny you mention Fable 3, because I've actually been replaying it on Steam. I love the game because you actually get some story after taking over the kingdom, instead of that being the ending. It's a lot of fun.

I liked X/Y and ff8. I never tried Zestiria so I cant say where I stand on that.

OoT, MM, WW, and TP are the greatest of the 3D Zeldas. Total was great, but lacked the classic Zelda charm. BotW was a generic open world game with a Zelda aesthetic slapped on as an afterthought.

Liking open world or not, I wouldn't ever say BotW was generic. It oozed character.

As a longtime Zelda fanatic, I disagree, but Im glad you liked it.

I still say the side scrolling Wanderers from Ys is my favorite of the series. I liked it better than its remake Oath in Felghana.

Currently? Nobody has shat on Wind Waker in the past decade. People shat on WW when it came out.. in '02/'03; so two decades ago. Pretty much everyone who thought the art direction was a mistake have been proven wrong.

Yeah, hardly anyone shits on Wind Waker now. I enjoy BotW more, but I see WAY more people complaining about BotW than WW.

I like playing Fallout 4.

Just fun I've had playing a Fallout game. Would say the same for 76 if it wasn't online based.

It's TP for me. The formula was tired after a third game in the same style. I think thats why I like WW. WW link is the best one out of all the game. He gets knocked down and he gets right back up and tries again

Absolutely! It's also probably what started the real passion for gaming. Prior to that game, I hadn't experienced that level of world building and story telling. Plus it helped I was 9 or 10 years old and magic was pretty damn cool.

Thought of another:

NFS: Carbon is the culmination of all the prior Underground type NFS's. Has even more car mods as well as non tuner cars. It unfortunately, just doesn't do anything too different from it's much beloved predecessor Most Wanted.

Misread the topic title. Thought it was about one of the worst games in a favored series, not the game that people hate on that you actually liked.

In that case, my pick would be Soul Calibur 5. I am with the group that wasn't happy about the old cast being halfway replaced, but I enjoyed the gameplay of it.

I liked Phantasy Star 3. I thought it having multiple generations was cool.

Green Day Rock Band, pretty much the only Rock Band game that is a waste of time... unless you are a huge Green Day fan for some reason
