Yeah Sony's show was easily the most dogshit of the big 3 this year

Fuck the Sony execs chasing after Fortshit and fucking up PS Studio devs.

Nintendo doesn't deserve the big dog, since its direct was lame, too.

Xbox > Nintendo > Sony, even though there were more Sony games I preferred between the last two.

That's about where I'm at as well. Xbox just barely edged out Nintendo for me, but both were great. Sony's showing was just sad. Hopefully they've got something bigger in their pocket for later this year.

I think it's also because a lot of stuff Xbox shows will likely be multi-plat, so Sony ends up being lazy with their events like these since they know others are going to present upcoming titles for them anyway.

Sony got the market by the nuts. They can be as shitty as they wanna be and Cade Fosters are gonna keep eating it up.

yea, I have a Switch.

I'm also not saying no good games were shown (I even liked some of the stuff during Sony's SoP), but that the direct, overall, was disappointing, IMO.

I will say this. For a Direct for a console in its last year, it was way better than almost anyone expected.

I'm not too much of a nostalgic person, especially with games, so I only care about stuff that appeals to me in some way, and unfortunately, most of the titles didn't.

it's not that I'm not interested in the franchises (I watched the direct expecting some of them to show something); it's just that what they presented didn't resonate with me.

LoZ, for example, is one of my favorite gaming series, for example, but I wasn't feeling what we saw today.

and for the Mario & Luigi game, on its own, it would be alright, but with the remakes/remasters of SMRPG & TTYD, it feels like they're oversaturating the Nintendo market with similar titles in a short amount of time.

The one thing that made me less excited for the Direct was all the turn based JRPGs. I used to eat that shit up, but in the last several years, they have started to really bore me. Unless something amazing like Baldur's Gate 3

I don't even own an Xbox. And their business decisions have nothing to do with the quality of the showcase.

The shuttering of Tango was a travesty btw. I played Hi Fi Rush on PS5 and loved it.

Xbox doesn't get MvC so we're docking points off just for that in retrospect.

Is it the time investment? I loved XC 3, but it was like 100+ hours to complete the story and all of the side quests.

I beat Elden Ring, Tears of the Kingdom, and Baldur's Gate 3 in the last two years, so definitely not the problem.

It could be just burnout. I went through stages like that too. During my teens the only thing I played were shooters. I eventually burned out hard on that and went back to platformers and turn based RPGs. Then I went to reaction based games like rhythm and shmups. Then I cycle through them.

I am hoping that playing Baldur's Gate 3 recently and then the upcoming Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and maybe Metaphor: ReFantazio turn things around. What is with the awful names btw?

it's not that the games need to look/feel a certain way, but that if they're not like BotW, for example, then they're like the Link's Awakening remake - it just comes off as samey.

same with M&L, when you take the other RPGs I mentioned into account.

also, I wouldn't say that it's not an owning Nintendo systems thing, it's just that some games don't appeal to me as much.

I also agree with the poster who said the JRPG stuff was pretty meh.

I will probably buy a lot of those for once. I wont buy a damn thing on Switch unless its held hostage there, but I already have Tropical Freeze so a Ive been waiting for them to redo DKR so I dont have to use the shit motion controls. Been waiting on the DQ remakes for years. Ill get Metroid Prime 4 for sure. 2D Zelda is basically a sell for me, but I dont know how I feel about playing as Zelda as it seems like she cant hit things. Jm so behind on Mario I havent played one since Sunshine.

"New Mario Party" like that's something to be excited for lol

I find it humorous over half the games Xbox showed will be on ps5 as well so that show was also good for Sony.

But I would say Nintendo > Xbox > Sony in terms of enjoyable show to watch. Astro Bot was basically the only big deal out of Sony
