Why fat roll? Feels like you should have enough points to spec heavy into endurance if you're using a character that completed main game

Also +3 Fire Res gets a lot of mileage overall in the DLC

I think I had that on for most of the DLC after I realized I was basically always fighting against fire

This, I'm not seeing why your Arc would need to be so high. Drop that and crank Faith to get more damage out of the halberd.

The only way to cheat in Elden Ring is to take advantage of a glitch of some kind.

Fire Giant instant death was cheating. Things like that.

If it's a tool the game gives you legitimately, it is not cheating.

Shortly before you go into the bug area that leads to the boss area, there's an area you can jump down onto with stone pillars/beams. If you follow those around they'll take you to another elevator.

I'm really considering respeccing into Bloodfiend's Arm for the final boss. I've never been both stuck and not having fun on the grind.

Like I probably have spent far less time so far than I did on my first Malenia kill but I was having fun with that. But also I'm using the Anvil Hammer instead of dual katanas so I dunno.

I used Anvil Hammer for the final boss and thought it worked pretty well (switched to it from Blasphemous Blade because I read that the final boss resists slash)

You definitely need a lot of defense going in though.

My talismans were Crimson Seed +1, Erdtree's Favor +2, Dragoncrest Greatshield, Golden Braid. Before the fight I used Golden Vow and Physick with Opaline Hardtear + Opaline Bubbletear (to allow you to tank a hit when you summon at the beginning).

I typically don't spirit ash, but it's also less drastic than intentionally going with something I know is broken, so maybe I will. I also probably spent too much time trying to parry instead when I suck at it.

I did summon Ansbach a few times but that doubles his HP. I also tried Thollier and both of them together actually kinda rock, but he's literally only walked through the fog gate 2 times out of like 10. He is severely broken.

Then again I've been kinda been exhausted every time I've tried so maybe that's part of it.

Oh yeah, if you're doing it without spirit ashes, then you're gonna a have a rough time. The final boss is super aggressive.

The grab makes you auto-lose if it happens twice

Thiollier was doing that for me too, I had more luck with him consistently entering the fight if I summoned Ansbach first.

Finished the final boss. After a bunch of attempts I got sick of it and went with the greatshield approach and won my second try doing so. Fight definitely deserves the criticism it's getting, it can be a lot of fun at times, but then the boss does his lag the fuck out of the game attack or flood your screen with a billion particle effects that obscure everything and it just sucks. Camera is abysmal and the visual clutter makes it way too hard to even tell what's happening, so many times I was dying and not even sure what exactly I was doing wrong. Did I roll too early, too late, was I in hitstun and getting true combo'd, was that a multi-hit, etc? Various questions so often blocked out by screen filling flashes of light that make it impossible for me to tell exactly what happened and leaving me with pure trial and error to try to figure it out next time, which is brutal on a boss that obliterate your health so fast when things go wrong. I don't think I'll ever bother finishing a DLC playthrough ever again, I'll just stick to doing the good parts (almost everything but the final boss) and then moving on.

Gaius down. Once I figured out the trick to the start of the fight, it was generally a lot more enjoyable to figure out. I spent a lot of time fighting him along a back wall which seemed to punish his aggression. Free heal window and you can easily plan out your counter.

One thing that has helped - I've been holding onto upgrades (my great katanas were both +9, and almost always have a couple levels of scad blessing saved up) until I really hit a wall. In ER I found myself sucking against a boss, I'd go adventure elsewhere, and return only to walk all over the boss. Being able to give myself a little tune up really helps feel good about learning a fight.

I think in the main game, the camera was mostly fine. Some issues here and there... only one boss really sticks out in my mind as being an issue (Maliketh). The DLC has too many bosses like that, too many effects, too big, too aggressive for what the camera can handle.

I've tried that a bit too and honestly it's been so long since I've used a shield I have trouble seeing a time to attack once I start.

I think the camera's fine for the most part; never had an issue with it in the base game and the only issues in Erdtree were Dancing Lion and the final boss, and the final boss I feel like was less of a camera issue and more the obnoxious light show.

Scadutree Avatar can be a bit wonky if you stay locked onto its head due to how much it moves its head during attacks, but you remedy that by staying locked on to the body and only switching to the head when you attack it.

I also regularly drop lock and switch to claw grip when fighting bosses so I can control the camera manually as needed but still run around, that helps a lot.
