J-lo is a huge star

and the Rolling Stones aint have a huge hit for decades yet they aint got no problem getting people to spend bread on they shows

I guess The Rolling Stones have toured more often and more consistently, so they have people looking forward to their shows despite not releasing more recent work.

I don't know the exact numbers or situation but I would imagine the Rolling Stones have much lower expectations.

Pop music has a much shorter shelf life than other genres, by design

also the stones are an anomaly. There are lots of huge acts from yesterday that couldnt sell out an arena tour anymore

Because Rolling Stones fans are buying Rolling Stones tickets and J Lo fans are apparently not buying J Lo tickets.

Something to do with Ben Affleck

Rolling Stones by most accounts put on a great show and are the oldest active band from the 60's still operating. They are McCartney status. They are in rarified air. Also, boomers will spend the money for it.

JLo is a novelty act in comparison.

JLo barely tours, and when she does it's only for a few weeks, so it makes sense why there isn't as much demand to see her shows because it's not something she does consistently to drive engagement, anyway. The Rolling Stones tour very consistently, so there's more of a known entity there to know what you'll get out of it.

It'd be like wondering why Penn & Teller sell more tickets for their magic act than Jenny McCarthy would.

Artists who tour less often mean you have no idea how good or not their show will be. It's not a known quantity, so you have no idea if it will be good or bad. You're taking a chance.

Basically people are more wary with spending their money these days.

Actually I need to amend that.

Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran could tour very inconsistently and still sell tickets, because people know them for their music and love their music.

JLo is not exactly a superstar based on her music specifically, so only touring sporadically actually hurts her demand.

Rolling Stones are actually good

Tbh I think J.Lo is more famous for her insured butt then her singing talent.

Rolling Stones have a lot broader appeal than most people realize, whereas the potential people interested in a J-Lo concert is not very broad.

She ain't known as a prolific singer. She has great marketing. But that won't cut it against the biggest classic rock band standing.

If this was the late 90s/early 00s it'd be more competitive; the things I know about her most recently is starring in a movie as the love interest of Owen Wilson and divorcing Ben Affleck.

Musically, how is she being received? Cause she could be more relevant as an actor while losing relevancy as a musician.

she was never Madonna or Britney Spears big but she was still pretty popular in her prime

JLo hasn't been a big seller for over 20 years. On the 6 and J.Lo sold well. This Is Me Then sold okay, and then ever since then her sales have been rather mediocre. Her new album is also her first since 2014, and the one in 2014 didn't sell very well at all. She's much more known as an actress now.

Because the Rolling Stones are more popular and make better music.
