Been working on closing tabs for months. I'm down by 15 from when I started.

Close them all and start over

I don't understand the tab thing. Bookmarks exist and can be neatly organized.

Tabs can be somewhat neatly organized. I have my 69 (lol) tabs in 14 groups, most of which have names. I do have two tabs floating in the ether, though. I wonder if I can fit them in the other groups...

Anyway, bookmarks are for things I'm gonna want to revisit regularly. My tabs are more like a glorified to do list.

That's how I treat tabs vs bookmarks, but you have too many things on your to do list.

Crickey and I thought I was bad at currently having 25 tabs open but you have beaten me by miles.

I have 78 tabs on my phone browser but they don't take up screen space like it would on a PC. If I'm using a PC, I just generally close the browser when I'm done.

Why not use the bookmarks you revisit regularly in the toolbar and folder the rest?

It can look kinda cool having all of those set as just icons, like a console's UI

I was down to ~30 at one point but the number is creeping back up :/

Bookmarks are good for stuff I regularly come back to but for pages I'll open once, it's faster and takes less clicks to just make tabs and close them when done. With an extension like Simple Tab Groups for FF managing tab groups is really easy.

The performance hit isn't worth saving 2 clicks lol

I'm not sure what's so wildly different by having folders on your toolbar that organize the same list those tabs would be. The only reason I'd really want to preserve them is if I didn't want the state of the page to change, but I can't think of that mattering much with anything personally anymore.

They'd feel more out of the way as bookmarks; more likely I'd forget them vs a tab that is right there. That's not an issue for pages I periodically come back to, and hence those pages get bookmarked. And I've already filled the toolbar with bookmarks/bookmark folders so I'd need to nest stuff to get them to fit.

Maybe you don't notice it but it's still a thing. I've got a great gaming laptop too, I've got a high end PC too, c'mon. I even noticed a difference going from 15 tabs to 12 just now.

I do have an ultrawide so maybe that's why I don't ever have these issues anymore.

Fair point, but I don't really leave YT vids unfinished very often.

If you have a performance hit from literally 3 tabs, then your browser is eating RAM in a way it shouldn't be. I'm using a midrange laptop with 70+ tabs up, like 20 active, while playing warframe, and there's nothing to note.

Nah, I know which tabs take up the resources they do. Mostly large spreadsheets and other bulk opens for work purposes requiring heavy extension usage. LinkedIn is a violent offender. My backloggery is also the largest on the site (20000 entries) and it balloons quickly once I start filtering/searching stuff.

I wasn't suggesting random GameFAQs threads were causing it lol

What do you think of the update? I was hoping they would separate mastered so it doesn't count as completed, but I was also hoping they would keep it in the game page instead of just auto generating a list.

I'm also not crazy about the half-star ratings. It's a feature they should always have had, but I don't wanna go through and re-evaluate everything now.

Other than that, I think it's pretty cool. I've been moving all my reviews into the dedicated field for them.

I like it more than I loathe it.

I'm annoyed that ratings don't seem to be filtered or searchable anymore. I had categorized hundreds of games specifically that way to keep track of my favorites. So I'll have to manually turn those into lists, but it's not quite the same thing.

Otherwise it is less repetitive adding entries, and I'm not scrolling around or clicking pages back and forth as often so I'm glad we finally got it. The placement of the search bar no longer being at the bottom of 20+ systems alone is a godsend.

Fun fact, software company I used to work for rebranded themselves not just with the name "Tab", but literally used an inverted version of the Tab soda logo. Complete lack of creativity...and it was quickly changed to something else.
