The amount of worldbuilding in all of them makes up for most of the shortcomings that most affect the sequels.

Depends. It's a vampires vs werewolves action film with an early 2000s aesthetic, as long as that's what you're looking for, the first one is pretty fun, though the sequels definitely get progressively worse.

They are the perfect balance of dumb and well made. Quality varies between movies but they're all fun to some degree. It's not like Resident Evil where they become a mind numbing slog.
