They have sex in a hospital/cafeteria/games room. We need food.
There is a dead tortoise in said hospital/cafeteria/games room/sex dungeon. We need food.
It apparently was stuck inside when the house was built around it. It had no food. We need food.
I target 3 animals for the pawns to hunt.
I guess MegaSloth wasn't a good idea.
MegaSloth immediately hunts down and incapacitates all 3 of my pawns.
A Deus-Machina healer arrives to help me!
MegaSloth immediately hunts down and incapacitates them too.
All 4 slowly die.
Game Over.

You can harvest berries on most maps and rice grows really fast if you can plop down a growing zone on some rich soil.

Meanwhile I just started Amazing Cultivation Simulator which is basically Ancient Chinese Rimworld

No, it definitely wasn't. If memory serves, that's one of the most difficult animals in the game to fight and should basically be left alone for the early game.

I eventually got a megasloth farm going in my last game and they were great to have around as pets, but it only happened after I got one of those events where one of my animal tenders had a 100% probability to tame a single animal of their choice.

Anyways, as you likely observed, setting up a farm early is critical to securing your food supply (doubly so if you are not playing in an "endless summer" biome, where you'll need to stockpile supplies for the winter). That should be one of your top priorities when you first start out.

Yeah I was doing the tutorial. I had my rice field going but they were eating it faster than it was growing. I had corn and potatoes started but I didnt have time to harvest before MegaSlothageddon happened.
