Yes

If the poster who said DToast was incompetent got a nwod, then wouldn't the assumption be that these "insults" are low priority? It will take a while for the mods to get to them, and that's if they're even marked in the first place.

It should've been no-actioned since it's not an insult. It's a valid criticism. It's something an employer can remark upon an employee. That's like saying lazy or unvigilant are insults.

Without linking to violations, why do you think that? Anything that's not extremely borderline is punished pretty severely. If you see a marked post stay up, a mod probably thought it wasn't a violation for some reason.

i even pmed toast directly about this and he just kept giving vague responses then got mad at me

TheSavageDragon would know more than I do, but every time I've seen someone ask, "Why was this post not moderated?", the first thing a mod says was that it was likely never reported. I'm sure mods probably can act on posts without them being reported, but how would they even know unless they surveyed every single post in every single topicsomething that's not possible even for non-mod users.

I insulted SBAllen with relent for years and never got a moderation. I say DToast is in[redacted] and all of a sudden you can't insult the Admin. Obviously calling DToast that just highlights his insecurities so he makes the mods attempt to enforce it like he is just a regular user here.

So does any mod want to clarify if DToasts statement that insulting him is acceptable still applies? These moderations seem to contradict the explicit words of the admin.

That's generally why they only mod posts from the queue. I don't know all that much though, just what mods have said here and over on Hellhole over the years.

All of that is false. I actively dislike and campaign against Tails & SMIB. I would imagine that they both hate me as well.

Hell, I joined their discord server last night just to make a blanket statement that I dislike both of them very much. Before I left, I even requested that they pin it to the top of their chat so they dont forget it.

But I imagine that your goal here is to just say anything to get users to dogpile onto another user (me), of whom you disagree with. Which is why I wish GameFaqs would be more strict with cracking down on harassment.

Curious if he was just given the GameFAQS position without any choice, or if he volunteered for it. He's done a terrible job either way, but the former is slightly more forgivable in terms of the lack of a fuck he gives.

I'm taking a good guess that it was without choice. Fandom is run incredibly barebones.

Their frontfacing people are a meager group of "community" managers of which we've seen a decent chunk actually appear on gfaqs.

Considering nearly every piece of garbage you can think of has a fandom wiki the actual amount of people they seem to staff is incredibly small.

Cant stress enough that their actual job is just making sure no one gives a fuck and that people continue to work for free. So yeah. Not surprising he gives no fucks.

Which Inwill say the insulting clauses are always kind of hilariously off when it comes to reports anyhow but I blame that too much on the vagueness of the rules and people not really seeing the potential insults or abuse that can happen in topics.

Thats true. But I would have banned him for something else Im sure. I think people take my criticism of the individual situation that got Tails banned as me defending Tails in general.

Looking at that particular situation from an outsiders perspective leads to a lot of debate regarding the moderation practices in of itself.

Tails getting himself unbanned would shine a light on potential reform in the current moderation system of which I have massive issues withbut everyone knows that. It would just be me beating a dead horse to continue with it.

Also of note, my opinion of Tails himself was pretty neutral up until the recent Reddit harassment shenanigans started. I never interacted with Tails on GameFaqs itself we didnt frequent the same communities, and he got banned like three weeks after me learning of his existence.



But back on topic. Yea, DToast is not SBAllen. Allen ran this place. GameFaqs was synonymous with Allen this led him open to harsh criticism. Which Ill hand it to him, I am surprised to learn was allowed to remain visible on the boards.

Dtoast, however,is just a mid-level employee. Insulting him is the equivalent of going yelp and insulting the 24 year old kid that works as a part-time Starbucks barista for informing you that the company discontinued Pumpkin Spice lattes.

TC, you need to remember, focus on Fandom not Dtoast. If you insult Fandom? You cannot flame or do personal attacks on a company. If you say something against Dtoast then you actually break the ToS. Why do you think he said he'd rather you go at him instead of Fandom? it's so you can get moderated.

The admin and moderation teams have never been serious about taking transphobia seriously. Politics board was rife with it for years, proving they either dont know what it is when they see it and are thus useless for any actual help or are fine with it.
