Based on the details of this case, it's absolutely a win that tacos and burritos are considered a "sandwich," so I support this 100%.

what does this mean Previously, Panera Bread was suing to stop Mexican restaurants from opening up in food courts where they had locations, taking advantage of antiquated "sandwich" laws. This ruling, which rules tacos and burritos as "sandwiches," allows the Mexican restaurants to have shops in said food courts, and basically stops Panera Bread from attempting to sue "non-sandwich" shops from opening. The tl;dr was that Panera Bread felt they had enough of a successful stake in being a sandwich shop that they were taking advantage of old laws to stop "non-sandwich" food shops from opening in food courts/etc. where they had locations, so that they would have no competition. This ruling takes away their power to sue. --- Seplito Nash, Smelling Like the Vault since 1996 Step FOUR! Get Paid! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Legal food definitions are very loosely connected to reality.
