I bought a new wallet chain talked to some ppl there over the passing year and suggested they needed more punk shirts where the guy there working agreed. They didn't even have any Ramones shirt and the best they had was Alkaline Trio. I remember buying a Dead Kennedys shirt there before. It was actually cool too, it wasn't just the DK Logo. Anyhow. I'll just post this. I think this topic can have some fun and it isn't 100 disingenuous though I have to wait for the ho-ho-ho holidays if I still care.

Those malls, I had a dream years ago where I worked in one and I didn't hate myself.

I really would like to follow through with this idea, I tried on a Social Distortion work shirt once, but it was of the most uncomfortable quality years ago.

It's my own fault, but this place did used to sell more punk stuff, they have some funko shit sadly, but it's just mostly whatever, but I should have applied here ten years ago. It would have been better than other big store retail. I didn't see any baby misfits stuff, but they had uhh Sonic the Hedgehog pins. And Southpark and other pop culture stuff, I just can't quite remember at the moment.

A lot of anime and pop culture. Some Funko for some reason though everyone knows no one buys that shit anymore. There is music stuff and alternative culture. but it's still mostly what is really popular. I didn't even see the Alkaline Trio shirt, just the Green Day and Blink when I brought it up.

I am quite okay with Hot Topic venturing into more gamer territory. I haven't seen one in a long time, but there's strong nostalgia.

I always get Hot Topic and Spencer's mixed up... which one's which in terms of merchandise? I haven't gone into either stores in decades.

They aren't relying on nostalgia at least? I did buy a Goomba shirt back there in 2004. Their gamer stuff is Borderlands. ( I know that isn't as popular anymore and I didn'tsee any of that merch) but a lot stuff I just don't recognize. Some South Park is there. Oh yea there is a lot of Kirby stuff. That pink puff of air. Heh.

Spencer's is a real trip. You can't walk five inches in the store without seeing mother fucker on something. I swear too much now but geez.

Their newer single is catchy. Eyeballs etc. I was talking to the guy there how I still listen to their real old stuff on ocassion and he seen them in 2019 and they were good.

I am going to sidetrack this, but I remember talking to this guy at a FYE at a farther mall and I was buying Digger (some pop punk band) and American Lesion (Greg Graffin's first solo album). And I had all the reason to improve my situation as he worked at Best Buy in my mall which was odd as we recognized each other many years ago there.

I probably could have improved my situation so much. Hot Topic sounds way more chiller, but ugh days long gone.

Funkos have plummeted at my local one. They used to have hundreds at the mall, now there's just a small section at every store.

Hot Topic still has a decent amount of band shirt, but it's had more anime than band shirts for like 15 years.

Yeah anything Agony & Irony and earlier is 10/10 everything else is solid 8/10 category.
