I've never needed to use GF/Reddit/Tumblr/whatever for porn or sexy videos/images. The problem is that hornyposting is a ridiculously vague term and youll now get moderated for extremely benign stuff Nowhere near enough to warrant the reception. It's purely people who constantly have to fight themselves from posting literal porn (or lose another account...) having a serious issue. All of the seriously gray area stuff has been overturned that I have seen, it's sheerly the flagrant nonsense that actually stands up to the person who posting it contesting. It's in the same thing as in anything else: people constantly flooding every single topic/making new topics/etc. with the exact same nonsense over and over is going to make anything real very much get lost in the shuffle and come across far less impactful.
