I'm honestly starting to get more *checkouts*. Granted I still have annoying excess tummy fat. But I'm getting the surgery done to remove it this year.

I have my depression moments where I just devour anything in site. Only part about my life I need to work on.

I generally eat pretty healthy. Lots of whole grains, legumes, and a variety of fruit, veg, nuts, and seeds.

I am, however, coming out of a phase where I was eating more commercial bread products than I like to because it was convenient. I was still eating it with healthy things and not loading up two Dagwoods with a family sized bag of chips and a 2L soda like I used to do a few times a week when I was severely obese. Even still, having commercial bread as my main starch did start to wear on me. I'm back to cutting it out this week though.

I also lift 3 or 4 times a week and walk at least a couple of miles every day.

And yeah, it's pretty weird how differently I am treated. I rode the DART Rail yesterday and for almost the whole ride I thought about how different the experience was from when I was super fat. It's great.

Eating healthy and working out does wonders. It goes without saying, but it does wonders for your health :p. My vision is clearer, I have more energy, my mental state feels better, you lose weight, and you feel stronger. Also, I think it makes you more resilient to getting sick.

I've been super skinny all my life and even when I was pigging out on whole medium pizzas for a meal or eating a dozen donuts for breakfast and drinking sodas all the time, I only got up to 125 lbs in my early 20s. I started eating healthy and drinking only water after that and dropped down to 104 lbs (I was eating too little). Then in 2019, I started exercising daily and eating a little more and I'm back up to 118 lbs now. The exercise has really improved my stamina and strength so I can actually do chores around the house without getting winded anymore. I used to have leg and back pain too but the exercise fixed those problems.

Yeah, I try to eat healthy. Breakfast and lunch have been almost the same meal for like ten years, but dinner can be a crapshoot.

That's my favorite part of getting healthy, losing fat, and developing some visible muscle on the upper body. It may be superficial, but the difference between being essentially invisible as an awkward fat guy to getting looks, smiles, and occasional compliments is almost indescribable. It's a real boon to a man's mental health, or at least it has been for me.
