Is this really AI, or just some AI tool like it smoothed edges, distorted voices, or suggested dialogue?

AI like this is mostly a grift.

A love story made entirely by something literally incapable of understanding love.

not sure exactly why they're complaining about the writing, this mostly just feels like any other lame trailer in that respect. The visual part sucks though

I fucking hate how some people are considering these AI tools appropiate for creating content when its nauseating and lazy shit, not like there's actual artists and writers you could hire to make something watchable

And it still can't get cgi mouths to move right.

What's the deal with mouths. It's like lips and teeth are cursed to never look natural unless they're on a real human.

100 years from now, when every movie is made by AI and look as seamless as a movie shot with "real people", we'll look back at this like people look at silent movies and say "people were really entertained by this and thought it looked good?"

It's going to have to reach a limit. Real humans are needed to make corporations richer. AI doesn't pay for their products and services, and real humans can't pay for shit without money.

The theory is sound, but every CEO will think, why do I need to be the one to hire people? Let someone else do it so I can save money.

There needs to be government regulation. Weve had enough of small government.

It obviously looks shit. But this technology will obviously get better. It has been at a rapid rate.

I'm confused though, this seems like its working on old tech. Sora AI looks 10x better than this.

People said the same about the assembly line. And the computer. And a bevvy of other things.

Now, I understand that tech is moving a a MUCH faster pace than it ever has, but to say there will "soon" be no more human jobs might be a stretch.

The government seems to go with whatever brings in the most tax dollars. If AI starts depriving it of that then maybe it'll step in. AI actors and employees don't pay taxes so...

This IS what the chase for AI is all about. Late stage capitalism.

The elites want to hand as little of their wealth as possible to the working class and below as it gives them some leverage to not just negotiate for better, but also a stepping stone in fighting for change. If the working class doesn't have that, they have no choice but to bend to the boot. It'll be like feudal japan. The elites want to suck up as much of the available wealth as they can and this AI chase is them trying to remove as many jobs as they can in any and ever space they can implement it in.

Ask yourself which is more likely; Will the people with all the money at this point

A) realize they need to share the money

Or

B) decide if their money doesn't get them goods and services anymore it's time to switch from capitalism to just taking those goods and services through force

Capitalism was a nice experiment but I'm sure the wealthy will be just as happy to make us serfs again who work at the gunpoint of their private armies.

The silver lining is non-human works can't be copyrighted. Media without token human involvement in its production, is open season for anyone to pirate it.

Of course it sucks. The problem is not now, but how this tech will look 10 years from now.

One day when AI takes full effect we will still be charged $20 or more a ticket to see it in theaters despite the substantially lower budget to make such a feature. Poor celebs will complain when their likeness is stolen too like that Black Mirror episode which is a possible reality.

The difference is that, while people marveled at and were entertained by Trip to the Moon and other early films in their heyday, no one in our current era (other than the techbros who made it) will marvel at or be entertained by this AI movie. Why? Because it's not a new form of media. Photography and film were new, exciting forms of media. 3D animation was a new form of media. Apart from the 'fever dream' aesthetic, AI isn't creating anything new; it's just repackaging and regurgitating what already exists, taking an already-oversaturated market and threatening to flood it to biblical proportions.

Maybe not right this second, but as it gets perfected (if it gets perfected) it will get to a point where it will be seamless enough to pass as "real".

Just look at movies today. Look at the top 25 grossing movies every year, and it'll be the ones with the most CGI.

Taking people that made animatronics and special effects by hand, and replacing them with a computer doing the work.

This is just the next step.
