The Incredible Shrinking Man from 1957. It has had discussions elsewhere, but very seldomly on other places I frequent.

Based off Richard Matheson's* book The Shrinking Man though sometimes given the title of it's adaptation which Matheson did the screenplay for. Oddly enough the book did get a comic adaptation by IDW Publishing in 2015.

*Father of Chris Matheson of Bill & Ted fame.
