i've been buying nintendo games for decades

I have a whole bunch of cool shit from preordering their games

remember when the preorder bonus for Wind Waker was a full port of Ocarina of Time, plus a remixed version of the entire game? that was cool

this is a sheet of paper that literally tells you you're playing a gamecube game that was sold for the price of a full game in 2024. that's not cool

responses to topics don't all have to be positive, and you don't have to defend nintendo for a preorder bonus that has a monetary value of literal pennies

Spoilers: 95% of pre-order bonuses had a monetary value of literal pennies. Most preorder bonuses were stickers, cards, a poster, some kind of art sheet, etc. and so on. The bigger ones were few and far in between.

But the individual person decides what value said object has to them. This topic had people liking something, and you randomly came in here to try to shit on them and start whining about the remake even existing. Yes, not every response has to be positive, and likewise, people are allowed to respond negatively to you. I think the fact that you got defensive and went into a "fanboy" huff says a lot.

it's true, i'm really bummed that nintendo uses their considerable development talent to shit out lazy remakes of games they could just as easily make available as ports

I'm bummed that fans of their games put up with it and even get excited by it

Just think, instead of 1:1 remakes of games you've been playing for decades in SMRPG/TTYD they could've just made a new Mario RPG in the style people want

Just think, instead of 1:1 remakes of games you've been playing for decades in SMRPG/TTYD they could've just made a new Mario RPG in the style people want

And then you get people to complain about the remakes not being 1:1 and changing too much thus defeating the point.

i think remakes that actually have some effort are great. See: resident evil remakesshit if you want to use a nintendo example the Metroid 2 remake was a totally worthwhile game that reimagined the game without even really making the original completely obsolete. Great use of effort!

as for 1:1you can play basically all of Sony and Microsofts first-party games from that gen for less than the price of a Netflix subscription on modern consoles upscaled to HD

It really sucks that to play nintendo games you have to go way out of your way to find the original console, or wait and wait and wait for them to maybe decide this is the one theyre going to use to pad their release schedule this year

if nintendo ported their games like the other guys do, you could play all of their games as they were originally intended and they could spend that development time making actual new games or shit, even reimagined remakes

yes I rant about it all the time, it really chaps my ass and the fact that so many gamers wholly embrace this from Nintendo just means they spend way less time making quality new games
