I catch them with chopsticks then eat them froggie style.

If I see a housefly in my home, I will try and smack it. I have an electric fly swatter in the den where I spend most of my waking leisure hours, and otherwise I will try and use a piece of paper over my hand. Barring something convenient I will go in barehanded and wash immediately afterwards.

I used to be able to "clap" them out of mid air.

I worked with two guys I was slightly impressed with. One could all in one motion snatch his hat off and smack a fly. The other would snipe them with a rubber band.

Rotten potatoes are one of the worst things I've ever smelled. Did that once and they were oozing brown liquid from the cabinet and stunk like a mix between bad breath, shit, and a dead animal.

I snipe them with a rubber band when they're sitting still and then grab them with a paper towel

No, I have a Tennis racket that zaps them, 40 Love to me.

I grab my vacuum and use the nozzle attachment. Ive found that when bugs feel the vacuum, they try to hang onto whatever they are standing on rather than fly away. Makes them an easy target.

imagine hundreds, thousands of fruit flies everywhere in the house and you can't figure out where the hell they're coming from in spite of wiping, scrubbing, brushing every single surface and corner of the house clean

and when you finally open the cabinet in question, you get hit with a massive cloud of fruit flies, plus a rotten bag of potatoes that needs to be cleaned up

but yeah, it's all around awful

House flies have never bothered me. I dont even mind them crawling on my arms. Just stay away from my eyes nose and ears and I'm fine

houseflies refer to the most common type of flies in your area. some people can little black house flies that die easily. some people have houseflies that bite and take more than a smack to kill.

I know a guy who swears by those. I ended up buying an indoor bug zapper that hangs on the wall. It gets the smallest fruit flies up to hornets. Shit I didn't know was in the house ends up in the zapper.
