Lucky there's a Family Guy

Family Guy is garbage.

Despite the overwhelming claims on CE that most users only liked the first 3 seasons I have enjoyed Family Guy all the way through and still enjoy it. I think it has had some really strong episodes that cracks me up in multiple seasons all the way through.

I never really was heavily into the Simpsons. I watched it when it was just sketches on the Tracey Ullman Show and I remember when it started as its own thing in 1989. I watched a couple years but in 1992 I started driving and I was working and putting my time into sports and dating and just kind of stopped following it.

I have nothing against Simpsons. I just stopped watching and never really started back up. I've always loved Family Guy though. It just fits my humor much more.

family guy is so miserably unfunny now. but at the same time there are people out there who think modern american dad is actually good and not horseshit. it clearly still has a lot of viewership and millions of views on youtube and i see it more often referred to as "cringe normie shit" or something along those lines

simpsons has sucked since season 9 or so with a few duds popping up as early as season 6 and 7 but the first seven seasons are extremely good overall

It's 2024 so whichever one has the best memes is obviously the winner.

And obviously it's The Simpsons. I don't think I've seen a single Family Guy meme. Or if I have, it was so bland I forgot it instantly.

That's fucking devastating.

Family Guy, at its best, was maybe 10% as good as peak Simpsons. And I think their biggest problem is a lack of likeability. I like, if not love, pretty much every Simpsons character everywhere. But I don't think there are any regularly recurring characters that I really like except Stewie.

Peter Griffin I kind of like but he can be a bit much sometimes.

Brian often feels like he's being preachy or it feels like the show is trying too hard to force us to relate to him.

Lois is kind of boring... she's a grounded character like Marge and Lisa Simpson but those characters make me feel emotionally invested while also acting as good foils for Bart and Homer.

Peter is also boring, all he has going for him is Seth Green doing a silly voice.

Meg... I feel sorry for her because the show seems to DESPISE her character but there's nothing about her to make me actually like her.

The Simpsons was funny at one point at least. Family Guy still isn't.

I feel like Family Guy is more consistent. If you like the humor, it's great. If you don't, it sucks.

Simpsons sometimes feels like it's something completely different. Lately, Simpsons feels like it just kinda tries to cram in celebrity appearances, to it's complete and utter detriment.
