Hes acting like an enlightened centrist here so Im going to go with a no to your question.

1st it's your political opponents. Then it's all politicians that don't align with your beliefs. Then it's the media that dares to speak out against you. And then finally it's civilians that are critical of you. Trump would pretty much turn the US into Russia West if he could.

No, really. Conventional wisdom is the only reason they didn't decline to hear this/instantly laugh it out of the court is to help delay the election interference case against Trump until after the election, in the hopes he might be untouchable then.

The fact that Trump's own lawyer is blatantly saying how insane of the idea of total Presidential immunity is to be entertained in front of the SC is tragic in of itself. Dude is tactically admitting this means Biden could off Trump and arrest the SC with total impunity.

So wats their excuse gonna be for why total immunity doesnt apply to Biden if they rule that way.

Trump's claim is that the president has autocratic authority over the entire executive branch, including the military and I kid you not, the FDA.

One is worse because it involves the US government assassinating American citizens. There's a little something in the US constitution that prohibits depriving a US citizen of life, liberty, or property without due process outside of clear and present danger situations (e.g. shooting a guy coming at you with a knife, breaking down a house that is on fire to rescue someone within, etc.) Non-citizens are not guaranteed a right to a fair trial.
