Unless someone just WANTS to work or create art or whatever.

Otherwise we would have robots powered by renewable energy sources harvesting our food and building our buildings and managing infrastructure automatically for us while we all just enjoy our own leisure time and pursuit of hobbies and interests without responsibility.

Maybe 1000 years from now humanity will get there. Maybe not.

But that wouldn't be the case if everyone was a NEET. You could actually meet with people during the day when they used to work.

I feel like not seeking a job or training, versus self describing as a NEET is where im getting lost here, similar to not having sex versus self describing as an incel.

There will always be jobs for humans.

Imagine you have this robot fleet doing all the work and idk a virus wipes out a entire companies robots or idk people defide to violently protest and wreck them. Think a competitor is gonna step in and help fix them?

I'd say the social isolation comes from being broke. If everyone were NEETs I don't necessarily think they'd all isolate.

That's fair. I know people have this thing about contributing to society. But if everyone is a NEET because robots do everything, then that part of it would be gone too.
