There are a lot of particularly eloquent words that don't get enough use/love, but I'm actually gonna start us off with something completely different:

Clobber.

It's a frankly perfect word for its definition. Cuz look: a karate master strikes. Clobbering is what a half-brained troll that's just stupidly strong but doesn't actually know how to throw a punch for real does. And in spite of the fact that he doesn't know the technique, you don't get back up. It was sloppy, it was dumb, you really shouldn't have let it happen to you, and yet you're dead.

And that just feels like how the word sounds. You've got the hard C and r for violence, the liquid l for sloppiness and an assortment of straightforward vowels and b's that even a baby could pronounce. It even sounds like the wrong part of speech.

Somebody just has to say it and I chuckle.

I don't know if it's underrated but i've always liked the word, facinorous.
I remember I showed my Dad this word and he looked at it for a few seconds and then said, face in your ass.

Petrichor ('pet-ri-kor)

It's my favorite word and smell. I also use it as a character name in RPGs whenever I make a witchy/magic-using woman.

I think the appeal for me is that it feels like an old, little-known word, and in the context of the earthy, sort of ethereal sensation it gives me I feel a fun kind of "connection" to ancient nature.
