was visiting my partner and helping him move

man its always so hard coming back to bland long island after these visits. vancouver is so weird to me. its so easy to pick a direction and just walk for a couple hours. we found this amazing korean corndog place with all sorts of cool corn dogs. sweet potato, chicken nugget, ramen

there was this neat japanese import store in his neighborhood too. got so much cool food and snacks

the move went over great. partners roommate/bestie is such a great person, im glad he has them, cuz he isnt handy at all but they are. i did some light apartment improvement stuff for QOL and we unpacked and arranged all his things. his room is incredibly cool. its half glass. like two walls are entirely floor to ceiling windows. very scary being that high up lol

real life starts again tomorrow. scared to go to sleep. work pretty much owns me at this point, it sucks. ill be visiting again in 2 months tho so at least theres that

i smoked on the trip. thought i was craving cigs hard. like, a calling for them. not in an "im gonna break" way but in an "i love cigs" way. anyway, they didnt do anything for me. im so disappointed

how am i supposed to take life now? nothing to bear any of my stress for me. just gotta rawdog every day. like why is life like this

anyways that was sunday. zero cigs since then. no point. i had planned on restarting them for reals but theres literally no point now that they dont do anything

my partner is shocked that i was able to indulge and re-smoke, then stop after that pack, and go back to business. idk how i do it either

I see, yeah thats a rich business-y area. I honestly don't know a lot of the food spots in coal harbour, its basically just somewhere you drive through to get to stanley park to me, most the actual vancouverites are living in east van, surrey etc etc, Vancouver downtown is actually very small

my partner used to live in the downtown east side area and i felt right at home. it was just like my area in san antonio, i was way more comfortable in an impoverished setting. i was pretty on edge in this new spot, even just walking around

a lot of the places we tried were dope, but i really miss juke's chicken. best chicken sando i ever had fr fr

stanley park was nice but it was infested with jobless richies when we chose to explore. bit too sunny for me too

I had jukes one time, maybe my tastes arent refined but id prefer churchs lol, I get it though it has interesting spices

the most famous chicken sandwich in vancouver would probably be a place called the down low chicken shack, another good one i had was a food truck called the frying pan

I just saw this topic. :P

It has been so long since I was there last it seems like a different world... and, in many ways, it is. Friends and family there have mixed feelings about it: Some never want to leave because it's so nice; others can't wait until they can leave because it's so expensive. Both have asked me to go visit them, but I just can't seem to muster up enough enthusiasm to do it.
.

What place did you go to and see there [in Vancouver] that was your favorite of the trip?
