Hopefully gamefaqs doesn't curb stomp this image.

If I pull up to a drivethru speaker and it's an AI, I'm blacklisting the store.

it speeds up the ordering process. workers can focus more on cleaning the facilities , food prep, and making the order rather than taking orders.

A place I used to go to had one of these. Surprisingly it was a checkers in the hood. It was great though. It understands orders just fine and gave the workers more time to stick their fingers on their asses instead of getting people's food ready.

Owners cant afford $200 to replace the 15 year old headsets so employees can actually hear customers, but theyll spend thousands on AI order takers that are probably just 4 people in Indian reading speech to text transcripts for dozens of restaurants at once.

it's not the headsets that are usually the issue. it's the intercom that needs to be replaced. many are decades old.

As someone who's worked in a drivethru I already know this isn't going to work. The vast majority of people cannot for the life of them speak clearly enough for AI to recognise their order.

So a brand new AI order takes and it already looks 10 years old

I wish people at the drive through would only use it for small orders.

Nope. I don't use any kind of speaker. I exclusively order through mobile apps these days. Zero chance of inputting the order wrong, so if anything is screwed up, it's entirely the fault of the person making the food.

Removes a lot of points of potential failure that way.

First of all those speakers are going to break my eyes.

Having said that people have gotten horrible with making orders...

....Soo, fuck it. It's all fair game.

There's also the fault of the how the system displays orders for the workers that could play in mistakes happening. Also the ordering process isn't always great on apps if basic options as choosing what size combo, what level spice, what flavor, what type of protein isn't available on the app. I don't like the mindset that the fault has to be 100% on one person and that worker deserves to be ostracized and killed over a mistake.
