If you mean the forced main quest thing, that happened exclusively in 5.

they said a while back 7 was going to be timed, and you'd have 24 hours to save your family or something.

I want to call bullshit but my faith in the production is not very high.

Oh nice a time I am actually really excited by this. It could create some interesting dynamics. Especially in a game like far cry where you can waste way too much time doing nothing, get bored and stop playing before you even finish the story.

They made it 7 of these?. I mean 1 and its different versions were fun and 2 was good except the respawning checkpoints. I did not like 3. I have no interest in coming back.

Tbh I didn't feel like FC6 really benefitted from having Giancarlo as the villain, in fact it felt like it kind of limited what they could do with him and created a weird disconnect that wasn't present in FC3-FC5.

If they make the game timed then more people will just not play it. A lot of people are not buying Far Cry anyway due to ubisoft being shitty but this timer bullshit will turn off even more people including me.

I agree that the premise sounds interesting. Like a modern take of Majora's Mask.

That said, Ubisoft being the developer has me very wary of this game

Not giving my money to ubisoft day one for this since these games drop in price stupid fast. Far cry 6 was barely out for 3 months before it's expensive 120 dollar edition that came with a good bit of dlc and all that was 20 bucks new at a gamestop sale, lol. They got me with far cry 5 and 6 but I got to wait for that juicy drop here.

I hate timers in games.

Now the interesting part would be if it was split into three sections and certain events only had a third of that time limit to complete

I don't get why people are turned off by timers. Majora's Mask was great, and games nowadays give you a fat load of new game+ to do all the stuff you skipped.

That being said, fuck ubisoft i ain't buying shit from them

I'm not really sure, I'm on team timer especially when it encourages faster gameplay or discourages grinding.

Some of my favorite games implemented this way. Pikmin 1 worked great just grab one ship part everyday and you'll be fine, discourages spending days grinding giant armies of Pikmin so that when you lose them it's no biggie. Grab more than one ship part in a day, then you'll have a free day for breeding.

XCOM 1 with its special resource meld disintegrating after a certain amount of turns discouraged "optimizing the fun out of a game" AKA have your character move their max walk speed and set them to the defensive overwatch mode.

I dont understand the time limit? You have 24 hours to beat the game or else what? Game over kick rocks and try again from the beginning? Absolutely fuck that if so.

If its like Majoras Mask even then I still doubt it would work unless the game world is super small. Knowing Ubi and Far Cry in general I doubt that.

Majoras Mask let's you rewind time though. I don't like being rushed. It's fine to have a time limit in rhe plot but just don't impose it on the player. I should have a character tell me that something will happen in 5 minutes, but then I can do random side shit for hours, and then activate the next event "5 minutes later" whenever I damn well feel like it

I beat far cry 6 and I thought it was better than 3, 4 and 5. It starts off strong but certain sections in the game felt unnecessary, like forced plot to pad the game time. Giancarlo was fantastic but way underused, too little screen time.
