Its still a huge problem, all that would do is avert the worst case scenario of a vehicle constantly accelerating nonstop. It's still dangerous to lose access to the accelerator inheriently

First off, that would imply killing the motor if you were doing it deliberately for whatever reason.
Second, that's not an excuse to not fix a serious design flaw that could get you stuck on the road waiting for a towtruck, if not leaving you in the middle of a highway.

That's just it, it wouldn't. Luckily Tesla doesn't really have a quality control department and thanks to legal loopholes, Elon managed to avoid having to let the government do most (all?) or the usual safety tests on the cybertruck they perform on vehicles.
