I don't think it is anything to worry about, most cookies have some sort of expiration date so you are eventually required to log back in again. Since you were able to sign back in it shouldn't be an issue, although you can always change your password if you are concerned.

Amazon sometimes forgets.

Also, sometimes if you log in too often, Amazon gets confused and starts to suspect you're a bot, and may ask you to prove you're not.

There's been no new log-in emails or anything, but yeah I've likely been signed in for a year or two, I normally don't log out of sites.
