I remember getting 3 and being so disappointed in the endings.

3 sucked. I thought 4 was at least a return to form though last time I played it, I just couldn't quite get the controls down for 4.

I mean, yeah that tracks.

Though I did have a blast playing 3 with one of my best friends and the soundtrack was killer so I still hold it in high regard

Also I really wish they'd do a faithful revival of the series, I think there's a ton of potential with modern consoles

I want them to have a new be more like 1, 2 and Black, focusing on characters their wishes, and not have it be multi-player focused with factions like 2012 did.

Yeah. Yet when they did head on which was basically just a mix of 2 and black, it came across as just bland.

4 deserves more love.

everyone swears small brawl is amazing but I never played it. The levels are super destructive though. I like that aspect.

i think the idea of a battle royal is a good one for the multiplayer mode. So ps3 had a neat idea. It just wasnt good.

I always wanted a Rogue Trip sequel.
Fun fact. Single Trac made the first two Twisted Metals and left Sony and the IP with them to make their own games with their engine.

It's probably why Twisted Metal 3 felt so wonky control wise. Sony/989 studios had to make the engine from scratch.

Small Brawl is criminally underrated

Those are the best ones but I have a serious soft spot for Small Brawl

I watched too many TM retrospective online so I still don't have an opinion of Small Brael always felt too kiddy for me, but there is some creativity there.

Hey no one mentioned Twisted Metal: Head On which was a sequel of sorts of 2 with David Jaffe back in the saddle so to speak. That itself is a strange story and Lost/Harbor City.

4 was the only one I played, and holy shit it was so fun. I played a demo at a friend's house multiple times before I finally saw a copy in store.

It eventually just stopped working. RIP, but it was awesome while it lasted. Good times playing the game with my brother.

Definitely focus on the characters and their wishes but I do think multiplayer needs to be a major feature. I didn't really play online so I don't know how the factions worked but I'm imagining a more traditional online multiplayer experience, basically imagine like Halo 3 but Twisted Metal instead

small brawl is a fun time. but it's crazy to see it getting praise at all. the game has been blasted with hate since its inception.

the worst thing they did with the series is go online. it destroyed the essence of the game, it destroyed the loops, and it destroyed any sense of familiarity or interest in the characters themselves.

The 2nd was my favorite by far. Mainly because of the maps Holland and Cyburbia.
