Well Dungeons and Dragons is obviously too big. Roleplay works in the puzzle but I think it's as overly broad as fantasy so I see no improvement there.

One of the other ingredients is pecan so might be referring to maple syrup.

For extremely loose definitions of syrup, pectin (which is also a word you can find in today's strands but not an answer) is a common ingredient in fruit based pies.

Yeah, I fucking hated this one. I found BRAINTEASER after one guess, but RIDDLE is just positioned right that you can use its R and E to spell out BRAINTEASER. Those are the letters I used, so it didn't count. It was only after a few hints - which I'd like to think I wouldn't have needed if I'd cut off so many possibilities with the spangram - that I realized you could go the direction and spell it plural.

I genuinely feel it was bullshit.
