i'm not confused, i'm not convinced it's truly something they can't help. if more people cared to learn- and therefore teach their children- about "scary" but important parts of nature like spiders, i have a sneaking suspicion arachnophobia wouldn't be so common in the future

If you reaction to not understanding something that impacts other people more than you is either "Just deal with it" or "I'm not sure I believe it," you should really reflect on some things.

Shadows Over Loathing did it right; that game had both an Arachnophobia mode and and Arachnophilia mode that added more spiders.

I need to give that game a try. I loved KoL though always sucked at it, and West of Loathing was fun but also never finished it.
