Top Hollywood producer Carol Baum, who is behind films like Father of the Bride and its sequel, claimed Hollywood it girl Sydney Sweeney isnt pretty and cant act during a recent discussion after a screening of her 1988 film Dead Ringers, according to the Daily Mail.
I dont get Sydney Sweeney, Baum, who executive produced her first movie in 1984, reportedly said at the Jacob Burns Center in Pleasantville, NY, last week.
Baum said she came to the realization after she watched Sweeneys latest film, Anyone But You, on an airplane. I wanted to know who she is and why everybodys talking about her, she explained.

She also described the romcom as unwatchable.
Baum further revealed her students at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts couldnt give a satisfactory reason why the 26-year-old star is so sought after, either.
I said to my class, Explain this girl to me. Shes not pretty, she cant act. Why is she so hot?' she recalled. Nobody had an answer.
Despite her disinterest in Sweeney, Baum conceded that shes not sure if she would turn down the opportunity to produce a movie with her in it, if her presence meant the project would get the go-ahead.

We all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light? Nobody I know, she noted. Your job is to get the movie made.
Sweeneys representative hit back at Baum in a statement sent to Page Six Wednesday.
How sad that a woman in the position to share her expertise and experience chooses instead to attack another woman, the representative stated.
If thats what shes learned in her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, thats shameful. To unjustly disparage a fellow female producer speaks volumes about Ms. Baums character.

Gross and unwarranted attack. Carol Baum isn't exactly known for being a goddess nor for her talent.

I'm not a fan of Sweeney, but this is just a old hack using someone much more famous than her to try and get attention. In fact, this is pretty telling :

Id like to know who Carol Baum considers pretty.

Sydney Sweeney isnt a great actor, but shes satisfactory in her roles. The roles Sweeney takes arent ones that are goin to be up for awards, but are the kind that could get people to watch something because they have some interest, whatever that may be, in her.

She's pretty without being flawless (thus giving off that attainable 'girl next door' vibe), she's clearly not shy about flaunting what gifts god gave her, and she's overall sex-positive during a time when societal prudishness is on the rise, which is going to get her mountains of attention. I'd say that about sums it up.

I get that this stuff is highly subjective, but while I dont think shes an amazing actress (although I think shes fine in that regard), the idea that shes ugly or unattractive is one of the more insane things Ive heard more than one person say. Shes absolutely a 10/10 smoke show. I havent seen her new horror movie (Immaculate? Something?), but Im gonna check it out eventually.
