It probably could have applications within our lifetimes, if human civilization wasn't due for a massive (if not total) collapse in the next couple of decades from the one-two-three punch of unrestrained capitalism completely fucking the economy for the short-term benefit of the absolute richest people, the resurgence of fascism under "strongmen" like Trump and Putin (and others following in their footsteps all over the world; ironically, such "strongmen" inevitably make their countries more vulnerable to crisis, not stronger in the face of it), and climate change destroying basically everything.
