It's not entirely comparable. Terra has two official versions, both the blonde and the green hair are canon even in the west (her name of "Tina", however, is not), while Aerith is overtly a mislocalization on all fronts.

And it depends on what you mean by "fans." Fans of FF tend to go with the official (re: both) version, while the nostalgia obsessed (re: people who think that saying "Garth Brooks" requires that you slur to say it) only go with green.

If SE ever decides to use the correct and better sounding name Aeris I would be very grateful, heck maybe that's why the remake games are underperforming

No strong opinion regarding the Caith Sith pronunciation though

It's sounds better and is the way a loooot of people got introduced to the character, even if it was a mistranslation, SE should let it go already and just adopt it as the correct name

I mean, this is objectively the case. At least when it comes to topics like this.

Like, if you just like Aeris over Aerith and prefer calling her that -- due to nostalgia or otherwise -- then whatever. But trying to peddle it as the correct one while knowing you're 100% in the wrong just seems like an exhausting hill to rot on.
