Anyway, isn't it the rule that anybody who's been on the site any time in the past year can still come here? So people who use gfaqs but not CE can still come here?

are mods really enforcing the "no criticizing the staff or gamefaqs policies" rule?

who knew that threatening everyone with a perma ban would do wonders for the quality of posting. you will lose access to CE if you don't post the most inoffensive messages ever! are mods really enforcing the "no criticizing the staff or gamefaqs policies" rule?

so a mod can be as rude as TOU friendly possible and we can't do anything about it? Like a mod can come during my lunch break and say "Anime is trash" and I would be too helpless to do anything?

In the short term though? This is a very beneficial change.

Gamefaqs itself might get new users, but not current events. For example, a friend of mine recently got into video games few months back and started visiting gamefaqs for the guides of old games and specific game boards, but there is no way in hell he'll ever peruse social boards and subsequently CE.

So the 5% chance of a new user stumbling upon ce is almost nonexistent. I was on gamefaqs 2 years before I was told about CE, definitely would not have looked for it on my own. So in the modern age, ain't no one gonna be visiting this place least of all the new gens

It's not necessarily new users that I'm concerned about, though we had a few colorful ones in recent history. There are old users that occasionally revisit and now they won't be able to.

Balrog0 for example, should he decide to return to say hi, will not be able to post here.

I just came to CE last year even though Ive been on gamefaqs 20 years. Its super rare but Im sure Im not the only one.

I have primarily always hung out on the main system boards and talked about games. But traffic had slowed down so much even the main system boards didnt move much so I wanted a more active board so I started visiting here.
