Which proves my point even more. The game is played by a shit ton of people so there's a lot. Even with all the bad press the game gets, gamers only really care if a game is good and/or fun.

I stopped a few months ago.

I loved ow1. I'd dip out until a new event hit, grind the shit out of the new skins, leave for a month and come back and so on.

I'd never feel burned out because I'd be taking big gaps between events. Now with seasons, you're paying $10 for a bunch of mediocre skins and worthless trinkets. Simply not worth it. Plus all the actual decent skins are paywalled. Stupid shit. Just bring back loot boxes.

I still play sometimes. The core gameplay and lore is what I enjoy, and its not easily destroyed; even if the MTX system went down the drain.

That said, I wasnt able to find anything but role queue matches in the off hours the past couple weeks, and thats on PC BNet.

Not on CE. If CE somehow represented the majority of gamers, JRPG's would be more popular than any other genre lol. I swear, I hear more about the Atelier games here than any other forum boards I go to. I'll definately say most CEmen are on the more casual side of gaming rather than the competitive side.

How shitty does something have to be to make loot boxes look good by comparison. I put hundreds of hours into OW1. I want to want to play OW2, but every single announcement makes me less and less interested. It's the same for all the people I used to play with.

Pretty much every change that was lauded by the fanbase wasnt my cup of tea, and then they also changed it to a pass system. Havent played since Lifeweavers season.

Who supported any of these changes? I guess some liked the 5v5 vs 6v6 until you scratch the surface. People only hated 6v6 because of shields, the easy solution was just eliminate shield tanks.

In execution, the issue was that 5v5 makes tanks much stronger but then also puts more pressure on a tank. If you have a bad tank you're fucked. If you have a bad tank in 6v6, you could still be fine because the other tank could ball out.

Ehh, I played a good bit of OW1. Not proud to say I even bought crates before I realized how shitty of a practice that is. I wound up shunning ActiBlizz entirely with the whole Kotick thing though, and that was before OW2 came out.

Now that Kotick's gone I might give it a shot at some point, at least check out the new characters. Still kind of eyeballing if it's as bad there, but I imagine it will be more locked down news wise even if it is. But Helldivers is taking up my side game slot right now anyway so I'm in no rush.

Most liked the character revisions, I like the original versions. The one people were complaining about was Moira and that change didnt make the cut. I love 2 control point maps, the community is glad theyre gone.
