Many people overlook the humble 2.5-pound plates, dismissing them as insignificant. After all, they argue, adding them to your lift merely increases the weight by 5 pounds, which hardly seems worth the effort. These plates are so small theyre almost unnoticeable. But heres the thing these plates symbolize progress. Incremental gains, those little baby steps, are the foundation of consistent improvement. Embracing the use of 2.5-pound plates is embracing the journey of getting stronger, rep by rep. Eh you might as well just put a 5 pounder on there instead. I do use 2.5 plates on cable exercises though. Just attach it to that little weight knob when Im doing shoulder raises
