You realize that what some fans are mad at is the state that New Vegas is in.

What some people are mad about is how some none Bethesda story elements were treated in the story. It's less about retcons and more about if fans think it was "respected" enough.

Personally the story choices being made here don't bother me at all.

Didn't retcon New Vegas yet*

they could've lit it up and showed it on a night backdrop and it would've looked better imo. for non fallout fans it'd be a "whoa, society actually IS still functioning pretty well in some places!" moment

place looks like it didn't/barely escaped nuclear destruction with how it looks at the end lmao

Well with Mr House being in the show and McLean escaping to New Vegas in the finale I think the show runners will do it justice. Its gonna be one hell of a second season!

Personally the story choices being made here don't bother me at all.

The people complaining about inaccuracies havent actually put much thought into how many characters and detail it would take to fully encompass the entirety of the decades of lore in this franchise in one season. The show is clearly going to span multiple seasons.

why are we only talking about what makes random people angry? so weird.

anyway hell yeah, new vegas is going to be great. really hope they get into the desert heat and visual difference between the two. also interested to see if they'll go the NV route and have less brotherhood and more NCR, or some other faction (enclave has taken over new vegas? something crazy like that)

Because there are a great number of fallout fans needling away at the show when it has been incredibly faithful thus far.

Also we saw the New Vegas starter armor in episode6 or 7 when Goggins visited that family of lead farmers. So its safe to assume, between the other major hints, that New Vegas is canon in the show.

It's better to stop. Most people fans and non fans like the show.

Same. Apart from the apparent incongruity of Shady Sands being nuked 4 years before the events of New Vegas, I was fine with how things turned out. The nuking was heavily integral to the plot in a way that was both interesting in the context of the show and to the universe as a whole, and that's really all I could've hoped for in this case.

I don't think it's controversial to say that the Fallout show is the best-written Fallout material that Bethesda's done yet (or at least had considerable influence over).

Heh, I told myself when that scene was playing out 'Now Cooper, I know you're the badass of the show, but if they write it so that you gun down a fuckin' NCR Ranger like he's just another thug in your way, then we're gonna have a problem." But it's safe to assume that the kid at least just scavenged the armor and wasn't an actual Ranger.
