I heard the Arizona hockey team was leaving and decided to check out how my local team was doing. Apparently they have the best record in league and I didn't even notice. My focus had been mainly on if Knicks get the 2 seed and the Yankees start to their season.

So I guess they won that boxing match against the devils

Yea apparently the Rangers have a top Goalie in the league. I saw a NFL metaphor that they went from Brett Favre to Aaron Rogers. In terms of going from one franchise player to another while other hockey teams struggle to get that goalie. Had no idea might jump on the bandwagon and go to their games

It's because the North East has abysmal Hockey coverage.
Which never ceases to piss me off.

Sports talk would rather blather on about Football Bullshit, way out of season, than any of the really great and storied Hockey times that surround us.

Yea. If Jets/Giants had the best record in NFL that would be all over NY sports media. Maybe even all of sports media. Kinda like how Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and Chiefs are all over sports media. I barely hear about Rangers or their players that much. Something like their record usually means a player on team might win MVP.

He's been really solid since starting in 20-21 but even as solid as hes been in that Covid shortened season of 56 games they missed the playoffs.

The next year was his first 82 game season and he won the trophy for best goalie. They made the conference finals that year in 21-22. Both of their first two series went 7 games and were really close series and then everyone expected them to lose to the Tampa Bay lightning who were on their way to yet another Stanley Cup Final and thats exactly what happened.

Then last year in 22-23 they didnt even win a playoff series. They won the first two games against the Devils 5-1 and then proceeded to lose 4 out of 5 games including a 4-0 ass kicking in game 7.

So hes undoubtedly a great goal tender. I wish my team had him. But in the 3 years hes been the starter only 1 of those years did they win any series and both series were super close 7 game series. They currently have just 1 more win than they had 2 years ago. They have been in the low 50s a few times. Its not like this is some crazy historic run.

By all means go enjoy your team. They are better than mine. But it wont be some crazy upset if they lose. In fact I doubt anyone would actually favor them to win.

I have had this bitching point on CE before, and probably will again.

But from in Clock Work order, we have The Habs, Bruins, Lakers, Rangers, Devils, Penguins, Sabres, and Maple Leafs.

Four of those teams are part of the Orginal Six.
And yet, we are talking about some linebacker who burnt his thumb taking a roast out of the over, in the off season. Or some other shit.

It's really annoying.
