Say you're started playing a game together. This friend has to always put 10 hours into it before you even boot it up. Then they feel the need to always have to explain everything in the game to you, unlock all the shit before you. Basically pretend to be the tour guide in a game that you were both supposed to play together.

Does anyone have friends that do this shit or am I just silly.

No. I would be happy my friends actually fucking played a game for once instead of starting a game getting so far in and just never playing again anyway.

It would be wonderful to play a multiplayer game with someone who sticks to only playing with me. The way games are now though, we would never get anywhere because inevitably we would need to grind for hours just to get materials. At that point we'd just go play something else.

god yes. one reason i hate playing online games with friends. lately i've had a friend that's obsessed with CoD and they were really good about only playing when i did, but recently that broke off and they've started obsessively grinding to get some guns. suddenly the interest in the game has changed, i don't want to play that obsessively, and now it seems like they don't want to wait to play. messes everything up.

also tried playing tower of fantasy with them recently and that didn't go well considering a lot of the story is solo, apparently. so one day of them going in and grinding for 8 hours while i'm asleep basically means they're at a point in the game that i won't reach for a while, and they'll keep going, so it's a lost cause...

Nah, because I've been that friend multiple times. Sort of.

My roommate will get excited to play a game with me, that I'm super excited about... Then she'll either not play, or actively not care/pay attention when playing

Lol my friend is like this. Tells me how good this game is and convinces me to buy it so we can play together, just for him to drop it after like 3 or 4 hours. Now I'm always very hesitant on buying games to co-op with him. He does it with single player games too. Says a game is so amazing, but then drops it after 4 or 5 hours. It's rare that he finishes a game.

Maaaaaaan years ago I bought an XBox360 and a couple games specifically because my buddy asked me to and was wanting to play. We played together like less than ten times and he got bored

Shit like this is why I stick to Single/SSF
