I watched all of the current season and am watching last year's season now, but that's all I get from Paramount+

I feel like back to 2016 or even 2001 would be some good entertainment

I don't know but I love having Stewart back in the chair even if it is only once a week. I got home from the Navy in 1999 and that was shortly after Jon Stewart started hosting. I was an avid watcher of his from 1999 to 2015 when he stepped down.

I pretty much tuned out after that. I would occasionally watch Trevor Noah but it just wasn't the same but it really went to shit after Noah stepped down and they just started having guest hosts.

So Stewart coming back on Mondays has been a huge breath of life into the show for me but admittedly once he steps down again after the election I will go back to ignoring it. But considering I never expected him to be back on it again it has been really nice even if temporary.

I've liked all the guest hosts from last year's season so far. Sarah Silverman and DL Hughley are my favorites but Wanda Sykes was really good too.

Jon Stewart's episodes in the current season do still have a different energy to them though.

Honestly that is great you like them. I wish I did. To me Stewart was absolutely peak Daily Show. Especially when Stephen Colbert was part of the Daily Show with the Colbert Report (thought I loved his own show too) and a little later wen John Oliver was involved with the show.

It's no surprise one of my favorite current shows is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. I miss The Colbert Report version of Stephen Colbert vs just being a late show host. That was such good tv for about 10 years when we got Jon Stewart Daily Show and Stephen Colbert with the Colbert Report.
