No, that would have to be one damn good burger to not need at least some kind of condiment.

ive had a patty and buns burger before

always hold tomatoes. those are gross and just make it a soggy mess. unless theyre heirloom. those are good. cheese is ok i guess. usually old it. some kind of sauce is nice but not necessary. i like lemon aioli especially. onion is ok if it is very thin and only like two or three rings. just get a hint of it. don't need overpowering onion taste. lettuce is fine. mixed on pickles.

Yes, it's a great way to get rid of a lot of the unnecessary calorie in take when I do eat out. I ask for extra veggies to make up for it.

They could be diabetic, I think that's how my diabetic uncle eats burgers. Though that was before they had sugar-free sauces, not sure if he uses those these days or if he even can.

If a burger is good enough, it doesn't need sauce. That said, I always get or the burger comes with some kind of sauce every place I get one from. The ones I make at home on the grill, I just put cheese on it.

I would like hamburgers that are literally just a patty and a bun, but nobody ever sells them that way. And even if you can request that everything else be removed from the burger, you usually are not "reimbursed" for it and at that point you are just buying an extremely overpriced plain hamburger.

This topic makes me miss Arby's. It's one of the first fast food chains I ever remember going to as a kid, and I loved their plain roast beef sandwich with nothing else in it. But it was pretty rare in Hawaii (not even sure if it's there at all anymore) and there isn't any around where I live now either.

How do these negotiations go? Like if you say no ketchup how much should they compensate you? $2?

I was referring more to cutting the price for removing other things, like tomato, lettuce, or whatnot from the burger... not just condiments.

But no, I don't actually try to "negotiate" these things, because that's tacky. The fact remains that I don't wanna pay something like 8-10 bucks (or more) for what's essentially just a plain hamburger, so I just never end up ordering burgers anymore because most places don't sell the kind I want.
