As I continue to study the decisions made in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League like some sort of science experiment, its fascinating just how much this game has learned absolutely nothing from essentially any live service thats come before it.

It is 1,000 battle pass XP to get through 1 rank of the battle pass. This is separate from season rank, the thing you have to grind to unlock Joker. And separate from mastery rank, which increases the difficulty of incursions. And separate from character XP which levels up your squad and gives you bonus stats in the endgame.
The issue here is that there are just few ways to earn battle pass XP and the ones that do exist are justabsolutely absurd.
You get 50 battle pass XP for completing any mission in the game, ranging from Incursions to the side missions found around the map. If you were to just play the game normally and try to complete it using missions alone, it would take 1,500 missions to reach 7,500 XP. At five minutes a mission thats 125 hours, though this is not including loading or travel time between missions. Its probably closer to 200 hours in total. As a pretty avid player, I have 80 hours in the entire game since launch.

There are three daily bounties that award 350 battle pass XP each. Doing those, it would take you 71 days of logging in every day to do those.
You can get 500 XP by shooting a bunch of drones around the map every single day, but straight farming that takes at least 20-30 minutes since spawn rates are poor, and the system often breaks and resets your streak, or can sometimes skip days.

The best farm players have found is hunting down rare, red, material-spewing alien enemies around the map, which give 50 XP each. You can make a loop and farm those for fast XP, though it is quite possibly the most mind-numbing thing Ive ever done in the game, and I couldnt last more than a few cycles.
Despite a few methods here, the grind is unbearable. I am writing this as what I have to assume is the last journalist covering this game in order to see if it can spark a change at Rocksteady, who is shockingly slow with fixing things like this. The fact that the battle pass does not expire is not an excuse for how bad this progression feels, and this is something players have paid for. Joker is free (if you grind him out) but its this battle pass that costs money. But the time demand goes way, way beyond what Ive seen in any other game using the model. It has to change, and fast, before what few remaining players there are throw in the towel.

also fuck Netherrealm games too for that matter. Nothing about the game makes sense, including the barren playerbase.

Mostly the admitted >80hrs spent before realizing the model is shit. Either way fair, I suppose that was still harsh.

So you actually get that amount of exp in 12.5 hours and not 125. Sounds way less egregious.
