Yes. And a lot of AA/smaller titles show up on PC first, then get ported.

Not all of them, but the majority.

Sony exclusives tend to temporarily stay on their platform for a bit before eventually coming to PC.

Some few groups like Vanilla Ware still resist PC entirely.

But most multi platform releases these days are same day PC.

Rockstar also takes their sweet ass time bringing things to PC despite formerly being a PC first dev

If GTA6 releases at the same time it'll be like their first game that did in years.

I just don't understand Vanillaware. Refuse to make a PC version but then go and put their game on the easiest console to emulate. I just don't understand.

As the podcast I listen to likes to put it: the people making this decision are dinosaurs. They're old and don't understand how things work.

As far as they're concerned:
Emulation isn't real, and if it was then it would be illegal and no one would do it. PC is the only place piracy happens because of those dirty CD copiers. If they release on PC everyone who wants their game will just download it, and they won't get any money!

I remember a fun story about SFxTekken about the on disk dlc. The NA team got their hands on it and chimed in to say this was a bad idea. People would mine the CD and know about it immediately. The executive response: Why would they do that? It's illegal.

It's the same place Sega was at, then Atlus... now it's come down to Vanilla Ware.
