Of the 3 I've played through completion (7 and the remakes, 9, and 15), it's 7 for me. Especially since the remakes changed my opinions of Barret and Aerith (who I didn't really care for in the original, but loved them in the remakes).

I'm looking forward to playing the 7 remakes cuz I hear they make Yuffie and Cait Sith a lot more likable. They were def my least favorite in the original.

I would be pedantic and say 14 doesn't actually have a cast of party members, since the Scions are usually all NPCs, but you can use Y'shtola in the trust system or whatever it's called, so I guess that's fair lol

This is kinda of hard. 6 is the easy answer. But you really have just 5 characters that are really fleshed out. Terra, Celes, Locke, Edgar, Sabin. I'd add Gau and Lan. Although their stories are not central to the main plot like the others. The game wouldn't be the same without them.

Second choice is 9. I don't believe I hate a single character. Zidane is cool, vivis story......

I know it's not 10. 12 I'll be honest it's the world not the characters. Remove Penelo and Vaan and you don't have change the story. That leaves 4 characters Balthier is the only cool one.

FF6. One of my favorite things about the game is the ensemble cast of heroes as so many of them are fucking awesome-- Terra, Locke, Celes, Cyan, Sabin, Edgar, Mog, etc.

Some of those I get others I dont. Meg ryan (Tidus?). Badass incarnate would be Auron. Pedobait would be Rikku. Goth would be Lulu, Racist idiot would be wakka. I'm guessing Healer would be yuna? You left out Kimari. Outcast would fit. I dont really see the Yuna comparison. My issue was they just seem to drag her along but she makes the choices. Her personality is too demure for 90% of the game. That was my complaint for X2. Shes like a totally different person. I havent ever bought it.

People have a tendacy to latch on to the first thing a character does

Even just with Final Fantasy, people talk like Tidus spends the entire game crying/whining and Wakka is a MAGA racist or Zidane just hits on women constantly.

I think it reflects how few gamers ever actually finish a video game XD

Pretty easily 6. Mix of nostalgia and variety, plus there's no one I explicitly dislike.

9 comes in second place. I like all the characters except the last two you get, and even those two have their moments.

After that it gets way more muddy. Most games have at least one character I plain dislike or hate, or the characters aren't characters (1, 3) or are cardboard cutouts (5). Though Remake and Rebirth (even just watching bits of the latter) are doing a lot for the 7 cast.

Most hated definitely 13. While 12's cast is kinda bland and has annoying ass Vaan, there's literally only one character I like in 13 while finding the entire rest of the cast nearly insufferable.

Yeah just with hope it was pretty early he stopped whining he relapsed for a brief moment later on but as said it was short

Granted it's been awhile since I played 10. I seemed to remember him being staunch about his views most of the game. Lightning up on rikku and her people maybe but not the religious stuff

Had nothing to do with religion. Chappu went undefeated for years on end using the sword "Brotherhood" (which Wakka later give to Tidus), then one day he decides to leave it behind to use an al-bhed machina and gets killed that same day. We don't know if the machina was at fault but Wakka blamed it and subsequently blamed the al-bhed for the death of Chappu.

Sure it is. The whole Blaming Sin comes from Yevon. Because they use tech he returns. In turn Chappus death caused by a al-bhed machine gives him reason. It's still the religion that drives it
