I lie down on a bed in a pitch dark room and read an ebook when I'm feeling down. It seems to help me calm down after about an hour or so

You need to take a break. The same thing happened with about ten years ago. Even games from my childhood just felt blah.

Find a new hobby, start working out, go to therapy, or try all of those.

I agree, talking to a therapist can do wonders, I recommend it to everyone really. It never hurts to talk with someone about life.

Yeah if your tired but cant sleep you may need more exercise. It will make games more fun again.

Also playing Indies instead of aaa games made me enjoy gaming more.

I started bike riding recently, which is super out of character for me, and I've found that it gives me something to look forward to after work. Like I'm usually very sedentary and dont like sweating, but I just get out there and ride, and all the shitty intrusive thoughts go away for a couple hours. It's been great
