I had an experience with them today that smelled of a scam. I applied for a small loan ($600) the other day and gave them a time to call. This morning, a guy named Austin from Chicago and said they could give me a loan of $2000.

I should have hung up right there but decided to play a long. His supervisor told me that they couldnt give me the full loan yet due to people running off with the money (Ok, makes sense) Then Austin wanted my banking information and login and that they would send me a small part of the loan and then when I got it I needed to go to Wal-mart to send it back to them.

I gave him info to an old checking account that I rarely use anymore and has about 50 cents in it. A few hours later he calls me back to say he needed more information because the funds wouldnt go through. I rolled my eyes and hung up on him and blocked the number.

Has anyone else dealt with them before?

I'd close out that bank account or change the password or something. Don't know what kind of further social engineering they could do with that info, even if you don't use the specific account

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't need your login info. :/

Having to go go Walmart to send the money back is a dead giveaway that it's a scam (as well as the whole giving your bank login thing.)

Incidentally giving them your bank login, even if it's inactive, gives them an account to work with.
