If you look at her heartfelt "This is why I hate transgenders" explanation it boils down to "I'm afraid that if I knew about trans people when I was young, i would have transitioned and I'm scared that's what is happening to other people"

it really is as simple as "I don't understand this thing, therefore it's wrong"

Actually, it is very possible. She just wants to attach her transphobia to those conversations because she believes physical and sexual violence and the assault on rights is acceptable so long as it is against trans women.

I think the basis of it genuinely is from her being afraid of men due to her bad past.

But it being her whole personality? I think that comes from her initially making her stance known and getting backlash. She had reached that point of wealth and adulation that Elon hit where she couldn't possibly stand to be wrong about something. So now she's double down and doubled down and doubled down until she found the crowd that loves her for it.
