I missed the boat on watching it in 2016, too many great movies came out that year, but now that it's on disney plus I finally gave it a watch. As far as Pixar's stream of sequels go its one of the good ones.

I'm so glad the after credits scene had the Willem Dafoe fish and his gang, I was hoping to see them and the movie did not disappoint.

They gave a fish a receding hairline. That was impressive.

I gotta watch it again. I always feel like I dont like it that much but I dont remember hating it or anything. Only seen it maybe two or three times.

Finding Nemo is one of those ones that I loved when it first came out, but as the years went by, I liked it a bit less. Or maybe its just that I liked other Pixar movies more lol. But yeah I remember Finding Dory being good enough.

It's all right. The biggest problem was the ending, and it's something that is common in Pixar movies, even going back to the original Toy Story.

After giving us an emotional climax and a feeling of closure, instead of ending the movie we have to go through a long action set piece. It feels anticlimactic and takes away from the emotional resonance of what should have been the real ending. But I guess they figure that because it's a kids' movie, they have to give us an action-filled climax, even if the emotional payoff of the story is already over.

But it doesn't matter because the septopus is the coolest but of animation Pixar has done, glad they saved the octopus for the sequel when cgi technology has gotten even better than it was in the early 2000s

I have never actually watched it even though Finding Nemo is top tier and one of my favorite Pixar movies. I just never caught it.

Physical video rental places disappeared from my area a few years ago and I don't stream and have never once seen that one come on cable. I have seen the Toy stories and the Cars movies a million times on cable but for some reason they hardly ever show Finding Nemo on the movie channels and I have never seen the sequel on because I would have watched it for sure.

Lol

You know what I noticed and realized? Finding Dory is similar to incredibles 2 in having the same plot as the first movie, but it didn't bother me in finding dory. I think it was different enough or low-key enough that it still felt heartfelt rather than literally redoing the plot.

Still, it seems to be a trend with Pixar doesn't it. If I had a nickel for every time that Pixar did a 10+ year sequel that was a retread of the first movie's plot I'd have 2 nickels, but it's weird that it happened thrice

Well, probably because that sort of thing is on Disney+ these days.

Lol I've been watching the deleted scenes and behind the scenes, and there was actually like this whole 20+ min arc that they cut which featured gill and the gang! Where Nemo's dad and gill finally meet each other face to face. It was both pretty cool and understandable why they cut it from the movie.

Man, originally they were gonna have Dory's entire family have short term memory loss, even had some animated story board scenes. Glad they realized that was straight to home video sequel trash that even DreamWorks wouldn't do.
